In view of activity at The Five Alls over the last few years, perhaps we should investigate declaring it an Asset of Community Value (ACV).
This would make no difference to the current ownership of either the building or business, but it would mean that if the pub ever comes up for sale, we (the village) would have an opportunity to bid for its purchase.
Of course, we might not come up with a viable plan or the money, but at least we would be in a position to consider possible options.
A website explaining the process of declaring AVC is at: https://mycommunity.org.uk/nominating-an-asset-of-community-value-acv-and-community-right-to-bid
Seems like a sensible insurance policy . Losing our pub would have a significant impact on the village .
