There are often things going on in the village that people just dont know about. We need a clear line of communcation that everyone can use. We also need a way of finding out when new people join the village to include them.

And now for the Big Discussion!
This is where everyone who lives and/or works in Filkins & Broughton Poggs can join in the discussion. Please choose the most relevant category, and post any idea or thought you have, and of course read (and comment freely on) everyone else's posts. Above all come back often.
Each category is looked after by a member of the CLP steering group, so watch for their posts and comments which will help us edge towards a successful Community Led Plan.
And, if you've signed up as 'unknown member', please change your profile so your name shows... It is so much more friendly to know who one is talking to!

Could the designer of the Filkins and B Poggs website please consider changing the background colour of the boxes from green to another colour. This would make it is easier to read "what's on" or due to happen.
Isn't the St Filica newsletter the perfect means of communication. It's delivered free to every house in Filkins and BP every month. Everyone is welcome to advertise an event.
Maybe the problem is that people don't read it.
I agree about people not knowing!
I quite often go to village events, where there are fewer than anticipated taking part, and people say it must because people did not want to come. As someone who has run a 'visitor business', I can say that one should never underestimate the more likely cause which is that people simply did not know about it!
We still get many people coming to CWW who live a few miles away, and have never heard of us. So I agree that we could, as a village, do more to let people know what is happening. It needs new ideas, and new methods... And it's not just about new tech, it is perhaps more about new co-ordination.
How does the person(s) distributing the welcome pack know who has moved into the village? As part of the pack, could permission be asked for to include their names in the next village newsletter and perhaps a few facts about them - where they have moved from, their interests etc Maybe even a photo so we would recognise them to say hello.
How do you make people read a newsletter? The welcome pack has been resurrected and is now given out to new people usually word of mouth
