The problem of affordable housing has been regularly raised in our village. Perhaps we should look again at any possibilities that may be available.

And now for the Big Discussion!
This is where everyone who lives and/or works in Filkins & Broughton Poggs can join in the discussion. Please choose the most relevant category, and post any idea or thought you have, and of course read (and comment freely on) everyone else's posts. Above all come back often.
Each category is looked after by a member of the CLP steering group, so watch for their posts and comments which will help us edge towards a successful Community Led Plan.
And, if you've signed up as 'unknown member', please change your profile so your name shows... It is so much more friendly to know who one is talking to!

The last scheme was for houses on the old allotments beyond Peartree Farm, but that fell because it could not be supported within the Local Development Framework at the time. If something similar was submitted now, it would probably get permission under the current (2031) LDF. Meanwhile, of course, I believe that a small part of the farm buildings there have now been sold for (perhaps) four speculative houses. What do others think about these things?
We would need to ask fir a housing needs survey to be carried out. Last time it showed a need for only a few houses. But more importantly if a need is found where should they be sited.
Definitely a tricky problem and needs broad thinking.
